128 Guilin Road

128 Guilin Road, Guilin Park (Huang's Garden), was constructed from 1931, and completed in 1934, now is listed in the sites of historical interest and cultural relics under the protection of the district government of Xuhui.
It belongs to style of Chinese garden architecture, consisting of Teaching Hall, Double (Mandarin Duck) House, Yi Pavilion etc.

The Teaching Hall used to be the place for Huang to host lectures and banquet. There are three Western-style bronze lamps hanging from the beam, which is rare in Chinese traditional garden architecture. There is fine wood sculpture on each door, depicting stories of Three Kingdoms. The Double House is residence buildings, consisting of two symmetric and identical houses with multiple concrete structures with reinforced steel bars. Yi Pavilion has another name as Lake Center Pavilion. The roof has Chinese pavilion shape, while the structure underneath the roof and the interior is Western style. This hybrid architectural design helps render a somewhat mysterious look to the pavilion.

The old park of Gui Lin park was the private villa of Huang Jinrong. The eastern house of Yuan Yang House was destroyed in the occupation of Japanese, and was restored in 1992 funded by the Shanghai Xuhui District People's Government.
