Three apartment buildings of three-storey with rich Spanish features enclose a yard with appropriate size, and quiet environment. The building has simple outline, vivid Spanish architecture elements, and some adaptive layout for functional needs, e.g. semi-open staircase at the north side, direct connection between two stairs and arch gate along the whole third floor, which is rarely seen in Spanish style residence.

These buildings were owned by brothers of Zhong’s family. Their grandfather, Zhong Wenyao, was one of the first group of overseas children students in USA, and one of the first car owners in Shanghai. In those overseas children students, he is one of the only few students who has documentary film of himself.
