383 Yongjia Road was built in 1926, and is listed in the Third Group of Excellent Historical Architecture of Shanghai.
This hybrid style garden house, was designed by Fan Wenzhao , who was famous architect in early modern China. It has a steep slope roof, half-visible wooden frames on elevations of the South and the North, cement mortar wall, and red brick at the corner and chimney. The main appearance style is British country type. The two porches at south and north gate are also typical Western Neo-classical style.
This house was formerly the residence of Kong Xiangxi, former head of Administrative Council of KMT Government, then was used by Shanghai Dubbed Film Studio, and now is used by General Squad of Cultural Market Law Enforcement.
